Recognize the Stamp of the Caring Neighborhood

Be a Guardian Angel to our Children

Based on the TFCF children protection statistic report of 2008, 64.3% of abuse is a result of ¡§parental inexperience¡¨ and 39.1% is a result of an ¡§ineffective discipline.¡¨ In addition, unbalanced marital status, difficult behavior, poverty, unemployment, and alcoholism are frequently seen among abusers. This is especially the case due to the increasing percentage of poverty, unemployment, and alcoholism in society.

The statistic data from Children¡¦s Bureau of Domestic Affairs Department shows that there were over 13 thousand teenagers having ever searched for protection from Child Abuse in Taiwan region in 1997. According to TFCF's record, from January to March 1997, there were 46 Child Abuse cases related to Parent's pressure in career. Among of which, 73 children was physically and mentally hurt; Averagely, there was one child was hurt by parents' bad care within 0.8 days, what¡¦s more, 8 children of them were innocently dead for parents' serious abuse.

The number of cases of child abuse has increased yearly¡Abut most people do not pay attention to these families, or rather choose not to get involved. On the hopeful side, volunteer organizations have taken a leadership role in healing our society from the effects of abuse. There are many organizations, staffed by volunteers and funded through donations, which are doing good work to prevent and fix the problem.

Ms. Chiu, a babysitter, often pays attention to her surroundings. She once prevented a case of family violence by calling the children protection hot-line 113 for assistance.

The TFCF executive director, Ming-Jen Wang encourages everybody to participate more in children protection¡¦s ¡§3C¡¨ (Care¡BContact¡BCall). One can save a child¡¦s future by simply making a call.

¡§Be a guardian angel to our children¡¨ invites everyone including welfare corporations and caring shops to build an unofficial network for children protection.
